Uncle Sam Wants YOU to Join the U.S. Army in Classic ...

Before I joined there was a rumor that I get to write down my top three preferred duty stations.

    Unfortunately, thats just patently wrong.

The military places its members where it needs them, hence the term service.

It takes years of serving and moving up in rank until you get any say in where you can live.

    Reasons To Join The Military

First: Think long and hard about why you want to join.

For some, joining the military is simply a smart way to get started in life: paying for college, having health insurance, or learning a trade are only a few reasons.

For many others, joining the military is a calling that they might find hard to describe. Maybe its the desire to become the toughest and most capable version of yourself. Maybe its a patriotic pull and a need to contribute to something bigger than yourself.

Whatever your reason , it is a huge decision, and it is one best made with as much information as possible.

Remember: The U.S. military is voluntary, and no one is twisting your arm to join it. Its very hard to turn back once you join, and there are serious consequences if you cant keep your commitment.

With that in mind, think about what is the most important thing that makes you want to join. Is it patriotism? Duty? Honor? Or is it that you need some help with getting on your feet after high school?

All are valid reasons, but only if you are ready to do the work once you start.

Whatever fears you have about joining the military, just remember this nugget of truth that my recruiter told me: You dont know anything about this life yet, and there is no way to know if youll enjoy it unless you really try!

If You Really Cant Imagine The Idea Of Complete Structure

If you cant imagine being told what to do, where to go, what kind of tattoos you can have, and how to dress every day, dont join.

Additionally, the rank structure in the military is a one-way road. No exceptions.

Your leadership should never belittle you.

However, there will be times when you are expected to take verbal and/or physical punishment.

On top of that, you are not allowed to give your side of the story.

    Learn Structure And Discipline

No matter what your specialty in the military is, your time in the service will instill in you a strong work ethic.

The military does not believe in quitting, and laziness on the job is never tolerated. It can be hard at times, but always worth it.

When you get out of the military, employers will see someone who works hard and can be trusted to get the job done.

Would You Join The Army Of Your Country

I thought this would be an interesting thread. I just wanted to know if you guys ever thought about joining the army and what’s stopping u from joining and what’s not stopping you. I am not an army recruiter I swear. Here’s my take. Not interestedAs a kid growing up, I always wanted to be in the army. My uncle was a pilot in the Gulf War and I always admired him a lot and wanted to be like him. When I was in High School, 911 happened. This was the first time I really considered joining the Army just because I had so much passion for my country, plus I wanted to get back at the bastards that caused all of the death.A little later we attacked Iraq……………..and are still there to this day. I am so glad I didn’t make the decision to join. Don’t get me wrong, I will fight for this country with all I have if it’s for something worthwhile. If we get invaded, world war 3 or anything worth me risking my life I’m there. But fighting over oil is the last thing I plan on risking my life for. This war has completely changed my outlook on war. Now, I don’t plan on joining the army ever unless I’m forced to or we get invaded.

  • I Have Adhd Can I Join The Army

Yes. Previously ADD or ADHD was automatically disqualifying, but today it is only disqualifying if the applicant has been treated with ADD/ADHD medicine within the previous year or if they display obvious signs of the condition. If you are concerned about ADHD medical prescriptions, talk to your recruiter about potential options.
