1. Following the indoctrination period, do the candidates have weekends off?

After the indoctrination period, candidates may have their weekends free if they are meeting the standards, and they are allowed to leave the Garrison at the end of the training day. Usually, that will be around 5:30 pm on Friday, and they are required to return by 6:00 pm on Sunday. Federal and state laws require that high schools give military recruiters the same access to campuses as the schools provide to other people or groups who tell students about job or career possibilities. So if a school doesnt have any on-campus recruiting, it doesnt have to allow on-campus military recruiting. A Day In The Life Of The Army Recruiting School Day 2

Well I definitely should have posted day 0 and day 2 because this place is wild. Day 0 was fine, got to sleep in, work out, and went to first formation at 1430 in uniform. Barracks arent bad and the gym/classroom/DFAC are all in walking distance. We were walked over to the classroom and given a brief by the division leader and our instructors on what to expect day to day, local information, class schedule, accountability and physical fitness. We got out around 1900 and were left to our own devices. No real formations due to COVID and we conduct PT on our own, until week 4 where we will do small group PT M-W-F. Also, weekend accountability checks are call/text.

Day 1 started at 0500 with a HT/WT check for the class, and handed in our PT test scorecards from our unit, either APFT or ACFT. Afterwards, we were given the Ops brief of rules and regulations for the course and then how to establish our Recruiter profiles on the Headquarters Support System, which holds your personnel information for USAREC and will help establish your pinpoint orders for Week 2. Released for breakfast around 0730, back at 0900. The morning was fine, we in processed and did all our paperwork, established class leadership and did some early course testing. Lunch followed by DEATH BY POWERPOINT. I wish I could tell you what we all learned, but I went into full blown half asleep, head nodding almost the entire afternoon. It was 2-3 briefs from civilians about something.
