If you are Navy , you may now be eligible for funding for credentials that were earned, and maintained, prior to entering the Navy. The certification or license must have relevance to the needs of the Navy, and must appear on Navy COOL, although it does not need to show the Navy Bucks icon to be funded.To validate your earned & maintained credential, you will need to provide Navy COOL with a scanned or emailed document showing the credential earned and maintained. Please send the document with your OPNAV 1500/57 Professional Certification and Licensing Voucher Request .As with any credential, you must meet all other eligibility criteria and the certification or license vendors’ requirements.

In the Navy, they call their enlisted jobs ratings. These ratings are categorized into groups they call communities. For instance, ratings dealing with aircraft are categorized in the Aviation Community. In other military services, these Ratings are what they call Military Occupational Specialists .

Before you become an enlisted member of the Navy, you must take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test . The maximum ASVAB score is 99 for each subtests or subject areas, and the minimum ASVAB score you need to get is 35 to enlist in the Navy.

Nuclear Ratings In The Navy

Ratings in the nuclear field are highly competitive. Applicants need to be well-qualified in math and science since they’ll basically be operating nuclear reactors. The submarine force and aircraft carriers run solely on nuclear power and propulsion.

There are three ratings in the Nuclear Field : Machinists Mate , Electricians Mate , and Electronics Technician . The rating in which an NF candidate is trained is determined at boot camp.

49 skilled jobs open to Navy menThere are seven branches of Naval Service for enlisted men comprising 49 different classes of jobs or ratings. The men who hold these ratings are known as Petty Officers.

There are four grades of Petty OfficersâThird Class, Second Class, First Class and Chiefâthrough which a man may advance according to his skill and experience.

Most men enlist as Apprentice Seamen. As such, you are automatically promoted with an increase in pay after two months of preliminary training. Thereafter, you may advance through trade school training or practical experience at sea as rapidly as your ability permits up through the various classes of Petty Officer.

Men who qualify by reason of special training or experiÂence in a trade may become Petty Officers in their particular specialty, provided there is a vacancy, immediately upon enÂlistment.

The Army uses the aforementioned nine subtest categories to create line categories relevant to the type of MOS:

This makes SEALs the most effective weapons in the global war on terror. The beginning of that training is conducted in Coronado, CA at Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training. BUD/S is six months of the most demanding training in the US Military. Immediately following BUD/S, graduates attend four months of high paced advanced tactical training known as SEAL Qualification Training .     Having recently earned their Tridents, a select small number of new enlisted SEALs will attend 18Delta SOF Medicine Course at Ft. The majority, however, will go directly to a SEAL Team on either the East or West Coast to begin platoon training what operators call the real deal training for war.
