How To Join The Army The RIGHT Way

Okay, let’s take a break. Hungry? Make yourself a snack: two eggs, any style . Once you’ve made these eggs, throw them away, right into the garbage. Then make some more. These eggs are actually for you. Enjoy!

It was heartbreaking, right? Throwing away those perfectly fine eggs? Well, that’s what happens in the military. And I’m not talking about war profiteering, I’m talking about regular, day-in-day-out procedures. I used eggs in my example because eggs must be tossed if they’re sitting around too long after being cooked. The military throws away a lot of food every day. When it comes to feeding the troops, it’s better to throw away food rather than eat something that’s not fresh enough.

Now that I think about it, the real reason KP is so tough is not because they’re always scrubbing pots and pans in the steaming kitchen. The real punishment is that you will end up seeing a lot of food getting thrown out, and it will be hard to witness all the wastefulness. Perfectly good food that nobody has eaten must be thrown away to prevent food poisoning. Can you throw away a whole chocolate cake that no one has touched? How about a tub of ice cream? Can you do it again and again? You will if you sign up for the military!

This was one of the toughest parts of being in the Army for me. It was hard to throw things away when, on the other side of the base, the family of a junior enlisted soldier was living in poverty and could have used what we threw out.

Basic Training To Join The Army

Basic Training, or known as boot camp, is an intense program that introduces recruits to the military services life and trains a person into a soldier.

You may only have a short time for your new career path preparation depending on when you leave for the boot camp. That means you should organize everything in order to get ready before the Army boot camp. Think of heading out for the boot camp as any other move. Youll need to put into storage such items as mail forwarding, your car, and packing items. If you even have a pet, youll want to find someone to take care of it while youre gone or find another home.

When you join the Army, you are provided a list of clothing and toiletries to bring, so make sure you find time to prep those items before leaving. Youll also want to make sure you have any needed documents, such as your Social Security card, birth certificates, and bank information. These may take some time to get if you dont already have them, so dont leave this until the last minute, if possible.

Basic Training Locations

After enlistment, you will do basic training at one of several locations around the country. Army basic training locations are:

  • Fort Benning, Ga.

  • Fort Sill, Okla.

  • Fort Jackson, S.C.

How Do I Apply For An Army Waiver

Applying for an Army waiver is as simple as requesting a form. However, it should be noted that the point of the waiver is for the applicant to prove they overcame a disqualifying issue that would otherwise prevent them from joining the Army. Once the waiver has been submitted, a comprehensive review will take place and it will be determined if the individual can join.

What Can I Do If I Am Found To Be Ineligible To Join The Army

In many cases, ineligibility means you will not be able to join in the Army or other military branches. However, in some circumstances the Army will provide waivers to help ensure potential recruits are able to join and serve. For questions about specific Army waivers and your potential eligibility, talk to a local recruiter to learn more about available options.

Identity Theft Is A Threat To Soldiers And It’s Just As Bad For Veterans

JOIN THE US ARMY in 2021 / 2022 – How to join

You might think that if you work for the Army, you’d be safe from the threat of identity theft, but let’s get honest and clear about this risk. The truth is that identity theft is rampant for service members, veterans, and their families.

If you haven’t memorized your social security number by now, you will within the first few days of in-processing. Throughout your entire military career, it will be used so often and on so much paperwork that you will get numb to it. Why? There are so many people in the military that the quickest, easiest way to identify each individual is to do so by number. You’ll notice a lot of private sector companies do this as well.

Almost every form you fill out provides another opportunity for a criminal to get your name, SSN, and date of birth. In minutes, you can become an identity theft casualty. If you’re deployed and fighting in the latest war, you might not find out that your personal information has been stolen until months after the fact! Instead of confetti in your ticker-tape parade, you’ll have bills and more paperwork to contend with, but this time the paperwork will be for all the credit bureaus and collection agencies you’ll have to communicate with to sort out your identity theft issues. Oh, and this doesn’t end after your time serving is complete. It’s just as easy to nab a veteran’s identity as it is to steal an active soldier’s identity.

But for now, a soldier must fight on two fronts: to protect his country and his identity.

You Might Get Seriously Hurt

Join The Army â Poster Museum

Casualties happen in war. War is hell. People know the risks when they join. It comes with the territory, but I’m not talking about that.

What people don’t know is that this can happen at any time and in any place, even stateside. Even if there is no ammunition or other threat around, a soldier can get seriously and permanently injured.

After years of PT , a soldier may have problems with his knees and other joints. He can easily have the same problems pro basketball players have, but without the same salary. Any civilian can get injured, but it is more likely in the military because you are more active and working longer hours with more dangerous equipment.

Medics are ready, safety policies are in place, and your buddies are usually looking out for you, but sometimes this isn’t enough. As a medic, I’ve seen twenty-year-old trainees walking with canes as a result of injuries they sustained during service.

How Long Does It Take To Become An Army Ranger From Start To Finish

As a candidate, you will first go to nine weeks of Basic Combat Training.

If you have the Option 40 contract, you will find your Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training are combined in a 15-week course.

After the first 15 weeks, you attend the three-week Basic Airborne Course for some formal training.

From this point, you must make it through the eight weeks of RASP.

At this point, you are a Ranger.

The actual time it takes depends on a lot of factors.

If you were to go through every part of the process without having to wait between courses, you could get through it rather quickly.

However, due to scheduled start times, that is not likely to happen.

Also, many candidates are recycled.

Being recycled means, for whatever reason, you were not successful for a portion of the training.

In this event, you must start over in that phase.

Therefore, it takes longer to complete subsequent training.

However, if you wish to hold a leadership position, you must attend Ranger School.

Why Might Russia Invade Ukraine And What Could Happen Next

The White House and Kremlin have both expressed pessimism on resolving the crisis

The White House says President Joe Biden warned Ukraine’s president Thursday that there is a “distinct possibility” Russia could take military action against Ukraine in February.

The Kremlin likewise sounded a grim note, saying it saw “little ground for optimism” in resolving the crisis after the US this week again rejected Russia’s main demands.

Russian officials said dialogue was still possible to end the crisis, but Mr Biden again offered a stark warning amid growing concerns that Russian President Vladimir Putin will give the go-ahead for a further invasion of Ukrainian territory in the not-so-distant future.

Here we break down how the crisis reached this point and what could be next.

If You Really Cant Imagine The Idea Of Complete Structure

Additionally, the rank structure in the military is a one-way road. No exceptions.

Your leadership should never belittle you.

However, there will be times when you are expected to take verbal and/or physical punishment.

On top of that, you are not allowed to give your side of the story.

How To Be A Medic In The Army

In this article, were going to explore the many ways you can become an Army paramedic. Well also discuss what job life is like for medics in the Army, as well as discuss the training and educational paths you need to take if you want to pursue this unique career.

Individuals begin their career path in combat medicine at varying points during their lives some have completed a basic EMT education or continued onward to receive their NREMT-Paramedic certification before choosing a career in the military, while others have chosen to enlist and receive their training during the course of an Army Career.

While civilians working in medicine can pursue a career as an Army medic without an actual enlistment, the possibilities for ranking, as well as income, are more limited than those that have chosen the solider to paramedic path.

A combat paramedic provides emergency care both at home and during times of deployment, which can lead to exciting opportunities and challenges during their career. Similar to those working in civilian paramedic positions, a paramedic in the Army must be prepared for work that is fast-paced. You also would need to have a strong desire to care for patients.

Army paramedics can expect to receive:

  • Health care
  • Housing
  • Education

Each new recruit wishing to purse a medical career in the army must first complete the Armys standard requirements before they may begin the path towards a combat paramedic career.
