Military Doctor Salary Vs Civilian

How Much Do Combat Medics Make Uk

Just looking for a source or something to give me a straightforward answer. I’d like to know the salaries for an average internal medicine doctor in the civilian world vs one in the military. Assuming the civilian doc graduated from an out-of-state university. Also assume the military doc went to USUHS. At the end of each year, how much money would each be taking home ?

You can do both you know ? Anyway, medecine et military are two incompatible things from a moral point of view. Referred to Hippocrate Otah

j4pac said: I believe that primary care is pretty similar when you consider lack of debt and all of the military benefits. But otherwise, you are taking a steep paycut. My buddy will be starting out over $300k doing Urology this year…that is more than twice the same that my Navy Urologist friend makes. So considering that there is a four year payback…you stand to lose about $150k per year in certain specialties. Considering that med school typically costs $250-350k…you can see how four years in the civilian sector can easily overcome the difference in cost of HPSP savings.

The handler is responsible for the well-trained animal. In addition to keeping them trained to handle the most recent weapons, they also look after every other aspect of their welfare.

Canine handlers in the military usually need to have several years of experience and many different levels of certification in order to get considered as a PMC.

Civilian Jobs After Service As A Combat Medic

by MilitaryBenefits

Combat medics have a tough job. They are responsible for emergency care on and off the battlefield, depending on mission requirements, operations tempo, and other factors. Each branch of the military has some form of a combat medic though they may have different career field names and job descriptions.

In the Army, there is an MOS with the job titled Combat Medic Specialists, an MOS also referred to as 68W or sixty-eight whiskey. In the Air Force, these are known as Air Combat Medics/Pararescue or simply PJs. The Navy has Hospital Corpsmen who perform similar duties, and the Marine Corps does not have a medical division. The U.S. Marines rely on Navy medical troops instead.

Working in these capacities is challenging, but rewarding. But every military career comes to an end at some point and anyone working as a combat medic or in a related MOS should start thinking about their career beyond military duty. What civilian jobs are open to combat medics who leave the military?
