Can Parents Force Kids To Go To A Military School
05 December, 2018
Yes, parents can force minor children to attend military school. In the U.S., most states require children between the ages of 6 and 16 to receive formal education.
Public school is the usual selection, but, in most states, parents can choose the educational method for their children. However, caring parents will take steps to make sure that their child receives the best possible education for his personal needs, skills and talents.
How Does Someone Get Out Of The Delayed Entry Program
One easy way to get out of the DEP is to do nothing. Simply not reporting on the day the person is scheduled to ship out sends the strongest signal to recruiters and military personnel that the person is no longer willing to become a member of the armed forces. If you are planning not to report on the ship date, it is not necessary to notify the military ahead of timeof that decision. People are separated for not reporting whether or not they have given prior notice. This is the most commonly chosen way of getting out of the DEP.
Some people feel more comfortable contacting recruiters and asking to be released from the DEP before their ship date comes. Many feel that they owe the recruiter the courtesy of notifying them that they have changed their mind so that the recruiter can spend his or her time elsewhere. Some people feel it is more official to send a formal letter asking to be discharged.
It is not necessary to write a letter or give an explanation for the change in mind.
For those who choose to write a letter, be aware that notifying the recruiter signals to them that it is time to step up their pressure. If you tell them you changed your mind, the recruiter and/or their commander are instructed to try to resell you on enlistment. Many people report seeing a less friendly side of recruiters after informing them they have changed their plans.
Benefits Of Joining The Military After College Graduation
Many reasons exist for joining the military after you possess a degree, and the benefits entice many individuals to prioritize their educations before taking the leap. The following section highlights a few worthwhile reasons a student might want to delay service to their country.

The Coast Guard has a similar student loan repayment program for officers known as the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative .

Speaking With Your Military Recruiter About Adhd
Its not uncommon for military recruiters to give out information thats not complete or accurate when it comes to military recruiting and ADHD. Its not an easy answer and recruiters dont always have the answer for you.
If you have ADD or ADHD and you want to join the military, you will want to speak to your local recruiter. You may still be able to join, depending on your situation. Some recruiters will have plenty of answers for you, but dont be surprised if your recruiter needs to find out the information you need before getting back to you.
The reason you may still be able to join the military if you have ADD or ADHD is simple. You can still meet the criteria and show no symptoms of ADHD and youll receive a waiver. However, this may not be the situation for everybody. ADD and ADHD are handled on a case-by-case basis to ensure those enlisting meet the Aptitude and Physical Standards necessary.

Absolutely Should Be In The Military
Sure, I don’t see why cannot women cannot serve in the military. In a basic nutshell men are stronger and hardier. Women are naturally faster and more flexible. They should be given roles in military based on what is best for the gender. For example Recon, Covert Ops. Anything that requires speed and finesse. Women would excel at that naturally better than men.HOWEVER, women should be given a chance at any profession in the military. Should they fail at what they attempted they should be try what I suggested above. There is no shame at all that some women cannot do some things that men can do. I am strong believer of giving everyone a chance. After all we are only human.
Awful Things About The Army You Might Not Know
Before I begin listing and explaining my points, I want to make it clear that this article is not meant to be disrespectful or insulting to any branch of the military. I’m not bashing the Army or America by shedding light on the unsatisfactory aspects of service. Also, I don’t want to scare anybody or discourage serving in a branch of the military because the Army isn’t scary. If you sincerely want to serve, then that’s awesome!
So what’s this article actually about? Let’s put it this way: If you want to buy a car, you can go to a dealership and stare at a car endlessly. You can walk around it as many times as you want, maybe even kick the tires. But remember, tires can be changed. You have to look under the hood. If you want to make the right decision about purchasing a car or pursuing a military career, you have to do your homework. This article will help you do that.
I’ll focus on the Army in this article because it’s the only branch of the military that I served in. I can’t speak for the other branches. To be fair, I have another article titled 7 Awesome Things About the Army Your Recruiter Will Never Tell You. Take a look at it after you read this one.
Finally, throughout this article, I’ll refer to the soldier as a “he.” I’m only doing so to keep things simple. I know there are many female service members, and I am proud to have served alongside them. Thank you for understanding.

If You Havent Earned Your Diploma Yet And Want To Join The Military Out Of High School
Any recruiter will urge a potential new recruit to complete high school first before trying to enter the military. That said, military recruiting involves something known as the Delayed Enlistment program where those who are not technically eligible to serve yet due to age or school status may enter into a provisional agreement with the service they wish to join.
Delayed Enlistment may put the enlistee into a program to familiarize them with military life, procedures, what to expect in basic training, etc. It can be a big help to those who want to serve, but are not yet eligible to become full-fledged military recruits.

Enlistment In The Armed Forces Is A Very Important Decision
Before enlisting, think carefully about what it means to be a soldier for eight years. Every member of the military, from the medic to the mechanic, is trained to fight and to kill, and the ongoing conflicts prove that fighting and killing can begin very suddenly. You may enlist to get job training or money for college, but eventually you may be faced with war. You owe it to yourself to think seriously about when you believe it is justified to kill another person.
Many of the details about enlistment are not well explained to people considering joining the military. Recruits may not understand the specifics of the enlistment agreement, the possibility of recruiter fraud, the limitations of college funding available through the military, and the problems faced by veterans when they leave the armed forces. It is important to learn all you can before you join. Remember that if you enlist, and decide you dont like it, you cannot quit.
Racism In The Military
The military has policies to overcome racism in its ranks. Despite its authoritarian structure it has not succeeded.
During the current wars, Arabs have been labeled towel-heads or sand-niggers, while there were reports of cross burnings and KKK gatherings on military grounds. During the Persian Gulf War, for example, half of the troops deployed were black while white soldiers were more likely to remain in the U.S. or be stationed elsewhere.
The few opportunities that exist in the military benefit primarily educated, white soldiers. While one-third of the enlistees are people of color, only 11 percent of the officers are. Non-white enlistees tend to get low skill, combat-related jobs. Disproportionate numbers of African-Americans and Latinos face courts martial and receive bad discharges. One out of three black GIs will get a bad discharge.

Child Care + Child Development Centers
CDC priority changes and closures are at the discretion of the installation commander. Many locations are limiting care to mission-essential personnel and those families with deployed soldiers or soldiers at combat training centers.
The updated guidance includes additional options for screening children upon arrival to ensure children who have a fever or other signs of illness are not admitted to a child care facility. The additional options may be useful when personal protective equipment is in short supply such as, initial social distancing to observe any signs of illness or reliance on a barrier/partition.
Fee Assistance + Child Care Aware
If you have pulled your children from child care due to center closure or coronavirus concerns, Child Care Aware of America requests that you state the reason why the child was not in care when submitting documents for the fee assistance program. For example: Child was not in care from 3/1/2021-3/19/2021 due to Coronavirus concerns. Cost of care for the month of March is $750.
Should you have additional questions, contact CCAoA at 1-800-424-2246 or email at . In your email include your branch, family ID, and which program you are applying for. You can continue to check your status online at www.childcareaware.org by logging into your account.

Special Agent / Federal Agent
There are hundreds of state and federal agencies that employ special agents. Agencies as obscure as the Virginia Lottery Commission or as famous as the Federal Bureau of Investigation all hire the most highly qualified candidates. Successful candidates often have advanced degrees in specialties such as accounting, computer sciences, foreign languages, or chemistry, or engineering.
The most qualified special agent candidates also have prior military or law enforcement experience. The average entry level salary for special agents is above $50,000 per year, with plenty of opportunities to advance to special agent in charge or higher.
Women Sex And The Military
The unspoken message that the military continues to convey is that war is for men and women should stay away. Half of all women in the military are assigned to traditional roles such as cooking, nursing, and secretarial duties.
Rape and sexual harassment occur frequently in the armed forces. One report stated that 64 percent of women in the military have experienced sexual harassment. Often men use rank to try to get sexual favors. Women who refused to comply have been labeled lesbians.

How Do You Get A Medical Waiver
Applicants typically learn about the medical waiver process when they meet with a recruiter the first enlistment step for any branch.
Most applicants disclose their ADHD history in conversation with the recruiter, but they also must indicate their ADHD history in the medical documents they must fill out as part of the enlistment process.
One of these documents is the Accessions Medical Prescreen Report, or the DD 2807-2, which requires applicants to check yes or no if they were evaluated or treated for ADHD, and if they are taking or have taken medication to improve attention. Applicants must also explain all yes answers in a separate section. Consequences for failing to answer truthfully or making false statements are noted in the form.
This prescreen form is completed with the help of the recruiter, and is reviewed by a medical professional at a Military Entrance Processing Station typically the second step in the recruitment process, during which potential enlistees take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test and undergo a medical examination.
Each branch has its own waiver authority board, which will make the waiver determination based on all available information regarding the issue or condition, as well as the specific needs of the military service, according to DOD guidelines.
Can I Join The Army If I Am Older Than The Maximum Age For Enlistment
The maximum age to join the Army as an enlisted Soldier is 35, and you must enter active duty prior to your 36th birthday. For Officers, you must accept your commission by age 32. However, restrictions can be lifted based on the need for certain roles. Recruits can receive an age waiver, so long as they can retire with 20 years of military service by age 55. Talk to a recruiter to get a better understanding of the demand for certain roles.

Making It Work Under Difficult Circumstances
Perseverance and dedication are key characteristics of successful students. Spittler says shes helped hundreds of students, and always loves to hear their stories. A few of them still stand out in her memory.
She recalls advising an online military student who was deployed overseas. He was interested in a masters program at National. She told him itd be a great program for him, but that he needed to take the classes in sequence, without breaks in between. She also told him his options in case he needed to drop a class.
Throughout the program, the student kept in touch with Spittler and, although she knew he was deployed, she didnt know where. Spittler says when a student is on active duty, You cant really discuss where theyre at because of security reasons. I really dont ask.
Wherever he was serving, the time difference was significant, and the student would stay up late in order to call Spittler during her office hours if he needed to speak to her. His ability to focus on difficult coursework while deployed really captured her attention and she praised him for his efforts.
Finally, he arrived at his capstone project, which is the last course in a National University program. Going into the last course, he had all As, but he was upset to receive a B+ in his final class.
She told him not to be so unhappy about the B+, but rather to be proud of what he had accomplished. It was no small thing to transition from one country to another and then to transition home.
The Stronger The Economy The Better Your Chances Are
Why? Because in todays world most people would prefer a civilian job vs being in the military. When the economy in the United States is strong less people join the military.
The harder the military has finding new recruits the better the chances are of them accepting someone with a felony. Military recruiting goals change yearly, even monthly at times. Use this to your advantage when you are applying to any of the five branches of the military.
